My research interests are in the area of computational mathematics and uncertainty quantification with applications in subsurface flow modeling and lattice quantum chromodynamics. My current focus is on developing multilevel variance reduction techniques for Monte Carlo methods, with particular emphasis on the acceleration of Markov chain Monte Carlo simulations of subsurface flow, lattice spin systems, and lattice QCD. I am also interested in adaptive algebraic multigrid methods and first-order system least-squares finite-element discretization techniques for problems in computational fluid dynamics, neutron transport, and lattice QCD.
