Hi. Unless otherwise specified, all demos of team projects will be held in ECCS 127, which is a room located directly across from the CSEL. Do NOT go to my office on the 8th floor of the ECOT.

You should plan on the demo session lasting anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes.

The grades for the first iteration of project 2 have now been posted. Most teams are doing quite well, keep up the great work!

Relevant Stats: 52 people divided into 19 teams submitted an assignment for this assignment. The lowest score achieved was a 70 out of 100. The highest score achieved was a 100 out of 100. The average score was a 97 with a standard deviation of 7. The most common score (the mode) was a 100.

The FCQs for this course will be conducted on-line. On Nov. 30th (tomorrow), you will receive an e-mail message from FCQ_Office@Colorado.EDU that will contain instructions, a link and a unique code that you can use to enter your comments on this class. If you do not receive this e-mail message, go to the fcq website and enter your birthdate and last 4 digits of your student id to access the FCQ form for this class.

On-Line FCQs will remain open until December 10th. Students who do not respond by Dec. 5th will receive a follow-up message reminding them to fill out the form.

In class today, a student asked if there were resources available to manage the generation of code for the semester projects. Another student then recommended the use of Assembla, a website that provides access to a bunch of useful tools for a software development team: wikis, discussion forums, alerts, chat, subversion, and trac (a bug tracking system). Best of all its free!

The grader has finished grading all of the framework project assignments. I'll be meeting with her on Monday to review her work and, with any luck, I will be able to post the grades for that assignment by Monday afternoon. FYI.

Hi. After 18 hours of travel, I am finally back in Colorado and, as you can imagine, I'm very tired. I see that I received quite a bit of class-related e-mail today while I was off-line but, unfortunately, I'm too tired right now to respond. So, I will try to send a response to class-related e-mail tomorrow morning before class... and if I don't make it, I'll take care of any stragglers after class. FYI.

Motorola will be on campus on Monday, November 5th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM in ECCR 245. They will be talking about the work they do at their locations in Boulder and Denver. This event is hosted by the ACM Student Chapter. See <http://www.cuacm.org/> for more details.

Hi. Due to the Framework presentations, our forward progress on design patterns has been minimal. We will attempt to correct that over the next few lectures however. So, please start reading the design patterns textbook. If all goes well, by Thursday, November 8th, we'll have worked our way through the first five chapters of that book.
