Roger (Buzz) King has been invited by the Smithsonian to serve as a Founder of the Smithsonian's Encyclopedia of Life -- a project that is expected to be of the same magnitude and importance as the Human Genome Project. The goal is to build a Web portal that centralizes access to information on all known species of the planet. There will be about 25 leading scientists and technologists in the group. A prominent Founder of the Encyclopedia is Edward O. Wilson -- the "father of the field of biodiversity" -- who has won two Pulitzer Prizes, in 1979 for On Human Nature and in 1991 for The Ants.
