The Internet Chamber of Commerce Introduces
a new ICC group for children ages 12-18

Please join us for our kick-off meeting

Spring 2001-Youth Internet Day

Saturday, May 5, 2001
Chautauqua Park -- Boulder, CO

RSVP's will be required
Price: $10 per adult, Kids are FREE!

Kids will enjoy a fun day of

  • Exciting Educational Presentations
  • Games
  • Prizes
  • Picnic Lunch and
  • Live Music!

... all at the base of the beautiful Flatirons.

The day will include activities/workshops such as:

  • "How to Become an Entrepreneur" with youth entrepreneurs Elise and Evan MacMillan, co-founders of The Chocolate Farm.
  • "Computational Designs for Craft and Toy Creations" with Mike and Ann Eisenberg -- CU Computer Science professors and founders of
  • DUI-simulated driving demonstrations by NASA Scientist turned young entrepreneur, John Freudenberg

Did you know ... In the recent Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), American eighth grade students ranked 28th out of 44 countries in math. By the 12th grade, they were near the bottom.*

Did you know ... In a NACME survey conducted by Louis Harris and Associates, more than 50% of American middle school children said that they plan to drop math as soon as the option is presented to them.*

Let's get kids excited about math and science again!

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and Guardians will have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of hiking among the Flatirons and/or networking in the lodge.

Opportunities are available to participate in the Poster Session. We are looking for areas of study that can be geared towards kids ages 12-18. If you have a topic that you think would be inspirational or exciting to this age group and would like to participate, please contact Shana Lourie.
