Apple MacOS X Briefing

March 2001

Apple Computer Science Briefing

Coors Events Center Conference Rooms
Monday, April 2, 2001
9:00am to 4:00pm

On March 24th, 2001, Apple Computer will be releasing Mac OS X to the world.

On April 2nd, you have the opportunity to learn why this operating system is striking the interests of Computer Science departments around the globe.

On that day, Apple will be hosting a day long, completely free briefing, for Computer Science Faculty, Staff and Students. The event will be held in the Conference Rooms of the Coors Events Center, in Boulder, Colorado. This event is designed for those interested in learning where Apple is directing this revolutionary operating system as it relates to the field of Computer Science.

Apple will be bringing in software engineers and product line managers, to discuss the following topics:

  1. Darwin, the open source foundation of Mac OS X
  2. Project Builder, the standard Integrated Development Environment in Mac OS X
  3. WebObjects, the revolutionary object oriented tool for developing and deploying web based application services
  4. Java, the standard for cross platform application development, and its tight integration into Mac OS X

Mac OS X will bring together the power of a UNIX-based operating system and the productivity of a mainstream OS that can run applications from vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Macromedia, Oracle, and others.

If you have specific questions, or can only attend a portion of the day, please contact Kurt Ackman, Higher Education Account Executive.

Lunch and snacks will be provided!
